Tom Glover, an artist with a rich background in painting and art education, studied under notable instructors John Laurent, John Hatch, Sigmund Abeles, and Conley Harris at the University of New Hampshire. Following Laurent’s advice, Glover traveled extensively to see the Great Masters in Rome, Florence, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, and Madrid, which deeply influenced his work.

Glover’s artistic retreats include a notable early experience on White Island, Isles of Shoals, where he spent a week in a remote setting with no modern amenities, allowing for uninterrupted creative exploration. In 2000, he participated in the Artsweek Retreat on Great Spruce Head Island, using Fairfield Porter’s easel and exploring the island’s natural beauty.

His exploration extends to places like Block Island and various regions in Italy, England, Ireland, Costa Rica, New Mexico, Arizona, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. These travels have inspired numerous painting series, leading to exhibitions and sales that fund further adventures.

In addition to his painting, Glover teaches at Sanctuary Arts in Eliot, Maine, has served as an Artist in Residence at Appledore Island for the Shoals Marine Laboratory, and works as an oil painting restorer and picture framer at Riverstones Custom Framing in Rochester, NH. He is also a certified Weed Scuba Diver in New Hampshire.
