In 2020, the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts enlisted the talents of Bianca Mireles, a skilled artist based in the seacoast area, to create a large-scale mural in the Recreation Department at the Rochester Community Center. Mireles’ impressive portfolio includes exhibitions across various cities in the US, including Los Angeles, CA, Birmingham, AL, and Big Spring and Odessa, TX. Having studied English and Studio Art at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, Mireles brings a wealth of experience and skill to the project.
“I’m honored to collaborate with Matt Wyatt and Amy Regan from the RMFA,” said Mireles. “Their dedication to fostering a connection between art and the community is inspiring. Having lived in several states in recent years, I always seek out grassroots doers and shakers, and Matt and Amy are exemplary. I feel lucky to be a part of their artistic initiative, and Rochester is fortunate to have them.”
The Department of Economic Development for the City of Rochester and Rochester Main Street generously sponsored the project, further highlighting the community’s support for the arts.
